The Humble Beginnings of Melissa Hardwick Design
As a small child, Melissa loved decorating her Barbie doll houses. Her family rotated through several home styles during her formative years which undoubtedly had an effect on inspiring her architectural passion. In addition, her childhood was spent in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which were design crazy times and appeared to further boost and form her interests.
Her world travels and the various culture that she has experienced helped formulate her creative flavor. She fell completely in love with colour, pattern, texture, and architecture. Many years were spent working teaching Special Education and working in the Tourism and Hospitality venue. She went on to attend BCIT Design School and received a BA from Trinity Western University (TWU) in Organizational Leadership from Trinity Western University (TWU). It was while attending TWU that her dream of becoming an Interior Design artist formed. Her friends inspired her to create Melissa Hardwick Design in Squamish.
