Expert Tip: Spring Cleaning

When you’re in the process of Spring cleaning, it’s important not to forget your tumble dryer vent. Many house fires can be caused by lint build-up in this area. These vents need to be checked and the lint removed on an annual basis. The best material for a dryer vent is smooth metal ductwork. Flexible plastic ductwork is often used but lint can collect in its ridges and it should therefore be checked and cleaned on a more regular basis.
