Spring Activity Guide – Squamish bc
Although each season in Squamish BC offers something special. Spring has to be one of the best for multi activity days. Late season snowfalls offer uncrowded powder runs in the alpine, while the milder temperatures at sea level provide great kayaking and mountain biking. Days spent riding powder in the alpine followed by a mountain bike ride are not uncommon, as a matter of fact they are encouraged!
Here is our guide to the best spring activities in Squamish BC, Only 45 minutes from Downtown Vancouver
Spring skiing in the alpine – The days are getting longer and the temperature warming up in town, but don’t let that fool you. When the spring showers come, this means powder at the higher elevations. If you are careful of spring conditions and watch the avalanche reports, Spring backcountry skiing can be a rewarding experience. Book a backcountry skiing guide today to ensure you are taking the best route.
Snowmobile – The road access will be rougher and require more of a mission to drive to the snowline. However the effort will be worth it, snowmobiling in spring offers longer days, more sun, and an escape to winter wonderland in the alpine.
Mountain biking – The trails are defrosting at lower elevations and spring is time to get back in the saddle and explore all the amazing mountain bike trails built by SORCA. With over 200km of single track biking trails in Squamish, you will find your favourite ride here.
Kayaking – Kayaking in spring is an incredible time to explore the pathways of the Estuary and observe the wildlife & birds come to life. as the days are getting longer and warmer, the plant life starts to grow again, and migratory birds will start to arrive. Spring is a beautiful time for a guided estuary kayak.
Horseback Trail Riding – Horseback riding is available year round, however, spring offers longer days to bring out your inner cowboy and go explore in the majestic upper Squamish Valley.
Scenic Flights – Spring is a beautiful time to take flight and enjoy the stunning scenery surrounding Squamish BC. Snowcapped mountains, waterfalls, the Howe Sound fjord, mossy green forests and flowing rivers creates a unique landscape that should be experienced with a Scenic Flight.
