After a beautiful sunny warm and dry winter season. Snow has finally arrived in the Sea to Sky Region! February is turning out to be the month for snow. So sit back with your hot chocolate and check out our list of the top ten ways to play in the snow around Squamish BC.

Tobogganing at Alice lake is a great day activity for the family adventurers, be sure to pack up the hot chocolate and bundle up your kids. Go for some wild rides down the toboggan hill which is located just past the turn off for the camping area. While there, be sure to also explore around the 4 lakes trail.This hiking trail is fun year round but even more beautiful with a light cover of snow.

Snowshoeing or cross country skiing at Callaghan is a fun day trip for the whole family. This winter wonderland is only a 25 minute drive north of Squamish. Pack up  the family and the dogs for a day of fun in the fresh winter air.

Backcountry Skiing at Read Heather is the perfect way to get some cardio and enjoy powder runs close to home. Backcountry skiing enthusiast know that your turns in uncrowded and untracked powder it is so worth it.

Snowmobile tour in the Squamish & Whistler backcountry – This is a must try activity for couples who want to escape from the city and explore the beautiful BC backcountry via Snowmobile.

Cat Skiing & Heli Skiing in Squamish –  The powder has arrived! Take your friends this ski season to experience a day of untouched powder. When it snows in Whistler, it snows even harder at our Catskiing & Heli Skiing location just 20 minutes north of Squamish BC. We traditionally get double to triple the snow from a storm cycle compared to the Whistler Blackcomb area. So make up for the lack  of snow this season by booking a cat skiing day of powder fun in the backcountry.

Bundle up and Take pictures – Snap as many photos as you can while the snow line is low.  Squamish is extra stunning with snowcapped peaks surrounding our community. Inside tip – Nexon Beach is a photographers dream location, the landscape is always changing  allowing for many different perspectives on the same scenery. Plus the addition of furry friends and cute kids will make you smile on the coldest Winter days.

Start a snowball fight. Snow falls only 3 or 4 times a year in our town. Take advantage and find a great hiding place. Stock up on some pre make snowballs and fire away at friends and family! There are only two rules in a snowball fight. No ice balls and no strangers.
