Park admission tickets are typically around $25 per person, but with all the activities available inside the park, you won’t be disappointed. Pack up the family and head to West Coast Railway Heritage Park for a full day with Thomas the Train and friends!
Day Out With Thomas Activities & Things to do:
Train Ride- Thomas leads the way on this 25-minute train ride. A conductor will be around to check your tickets, and kids will love the live music and bubbles on the train. In other words, riding the train is a must if you’re attending Day Out With Thomas!
Photo Opportunities- Grab your camera and snap a photo of your little ones with Sir Tophamm Hatt. You’ll want to have your camera for the train ride as well. Don’t miss a smile!
Bounce House and Face Painting- Need a little break from train time? Day Out With Thomas offers plenty of other activities to keep your family busy. You can let the little ones wear themselves out in the bounce house, and follow the bouncing up with a face painting session.
Crafts- Do you have a little artist coming with you? Be sure you head to one of the craft tables so they can put their creativity to use! There will be opportunities to create and color, and you’re sure to go home with a handmade souvenir.
Letter Writing- Older children will enjoy writing a letter to Thomas, and the younger ones might want some help from Mom and Dad. This is a great opportunity to get the whole family involved while talking more about trains.
Model Trains and Toy Train Stations– Speaking of learning, Day Out With Thomas provides plenty of opportunities for the whole family to learn something new. Check out the models and toy train stations to learn more about different train parts, how trains work and how they stay on the train tracks. Who knows- there might just find a future conductor in your family!
These are some of the crowd favorites, but you’ll also find storytelling, temporary tattoos and an imagination station. Once you get inside the park, there’s plenty of fun for everyone.
Day Out With Thomas – What to Know Before You Go
Day Out With Thomas is something that families look forward to every year, so be sure to buy tickets early! Plan to arrive at least one hour before your scheduled train ride. You’ll want to make sure you have plenty of time to find a parking spot and get your little ones organized and ready to move. The main event occurs across the street from the gravel parking lot. Remember that parking is $5 and is cash only.
If you feel like saving money, check out the park’s only permanent foodstand, The Beanery. You’ll find a variety of choices at reasonable prices. You can also skip the food trucks and pack a lunch to take to Day Out With Thomas.
