The four lakes trail is a Local Favourite series of hiking trails located in Alice Lake Provincial Park. The 6 km long trail brings you in a circuitous route past Stump, Fawn, Edith and Alice Lake. The trailhead is located just 10 minutes north of Squamish in Alice Lake provincial park.

There are two entrances, either by Stump lake parking lot or the Alice Lake South Beach (locals area)

This hiking trail is a great spot for those looking for a easy and relaxing hike through stunning west coast forest and well marked trails. The lakes offer a refreshing break from the summer heat on your mid trail hike.

Stump Lake to Fawn Lake

If you park at the stump lake entrance and start your hike from here the first lake you will pass is Stump Lake on your way to Fawn Lake. This part of the trail has some small hills and passes through mossy west coast forest. Check out the Cheekeye river access from the trail for a refreshing view of the glacier fed river.

Fawn Lake to Edith Lake

Duck off the main trail to access Fawn lake. A great spot for a snack break on the trail or a quick dip in the summer. The trail from Fawn Lake to Edith Lake is relatively flat through stunning mossy west coast forest.

Edith Lake to Alice Lake

As you loop past Edith Lake you may encounter mountain bikers coming from tracks from hell to ride some of my personal favourite trails in the area.  The descent down from Edith Lake to Alice lake is one of the best parts of the hike. Wind your way through electric green mossy covered forest following a flowing creek all the way down to Alice Lake.  Be sure to follow the path around Alice Lake back to the parking lot for the full Four Lakes trail experience.

Make a day of this hike, by combining a picnic lunch and SUP rental to enjoy the day on Alice lake.

Insider’s tip: Make a weekend of it in the summer with a family camping trip – Book your camping spot early as the popular spots tend to fill up fast!
