Lydia maintains that anyone can start their own business, but there are two important considerations when coming up with an idea:

1. 1. Find a problem worth solving – a lot of people looking to start their own business look for trends to exploit or copy what other businesses already do. When coming up with a business idea it is important to think about what specific problems are around that you already know how to solve or feel a calling to solve for others.
   2. Validation – you need to learn how to listen before creating. Beta test, talk to prospective customers and make sure the need/problem you are solving actually exists. This will save a lot of time and effort and prevent you from creating a business with no value proposition.
