Howe Sound Brewing was ranked “Best Brew Pub in BC,” and just one visit will show you why it’s a frequent stop for both locals and visitors alike.

Tasty Brews

Established in 1996, Howe Sound brews an award-winning selection of ales and lagers right here in Squamish.

They offer year-round brews, in addition to new and innovative seasonal selections. This creative process has earned the brewpub a growing list of gold medals from the North American Beer Awards, the Canadian Beer Awards and the BC Beer Awards. Best of all, they offer free brewery tours so you can check out the process.

Just in case you need one more reason to stop by Howe Sound Brewing, they send excess grain to local farms for feed and composting. Who doesn’t love a no-waste, environmentally friendly brewery?

If you can’t get enough while you’re in Squamish, don’t worry. You’ll find their beers all around British Columbia, as well as many parts of Canada and the United States. Bottoms up!

Fantastic Food

The unique brews aren’t the only reason to stop by Howe Sound. The food is pretty great, too!

Start off with a traditional appetizer like poutine, or try something a little different like the fresh coconut ginger mussels. Howe Sound takes their menu an extra step by providing the recommended brew pairing for each item on the menu.

The burgers and yam fries are quite popular, but don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone at Howe Sound. The menu offers everything from authentic butter chicken to jambalaya rice bowls and a daily pot pie. You really can’t go wrong with a menu like this.

And finally, there’s dessert. The brewpub offers a bourbon pumpkin deep friend cheesecake. Are you more of a chocolate lover? Don’t worry- they also have a hemp fudge brownie that is both tasty and gluten friendly.

Live Music

Howe Sound takes things one step further by offering live music every Friday and Saturday night, and there’s no cover charge. You can hear everything from blues and reggae, to rock, funk and fusion. The live music really adds to the laid back vibe at Howe Sound, so we highly recommend catching a show when you can. It’s an extra special treat after enjoying a long day exploring. You can hear the music while you sit outside and enjoy one of the best patios in Squamish.

Hotel

Howe Sound Inn is connected to the brewery and located just 45 minutes from Vancouver and 35 minutes from Whistler. The Inn is relaxing, full of character and surrounded by breathtaking views.

There are only 20 rooms available, so be sure to book quickly if you’re planning a trip. The Inn also offers free wi-fi, accessibility to the sauna and a small number of pet-friendly rooms. It’s not a bad place to wake up!
