1. Lake Day Picnics

This is a great way to spend part of the day outside with your kids enjoying the sun.  Pack a healthy lunch, blanket and toys and head out to one of the great local lakes for a day swimming, playing and of course: picnicking.

2. Disc Golf:

This activity is new to Squamish and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your friends and family. The course, located at the Executive Suites Hotel, is a must-try activity this summer. For kids who can’t play Frisbee yet,  you can also try  Foot golf.

3. SORCA Bike Skills Park: 

This is one of the best places to take your kids to burn off some steam. Perfect for kids as young as push bike age to the mini-mountain bike enthusiasts who want to practice their skills.

Cost: Free, however we suggest getting a SORCA membership to support our volunteer trail builders!

 

4. Camping:

Camping in Squamish is a great activity for kids looking to connect with the outdoors. Try out a night in your backyard or living room before taking them out for the night. Squamish is home to many great camping locations such as Alice lake, which offers family friendly hiking trails, swimming and a fun fully equipped campground. 5. On The Farm Country Market-

Visit On the Farm Country Market in Squamish for fresh produce for your picnic and to start a garden with your kids.

Cost: $20.00 can get you started with some great veggies for your garden

 

6. Story time at the Squamish Public Library:

For the super hot days that you are in need of some A/C and a good book. Drop in for story time at the public Library. It is 30 minutes of stories and songs suited for kids of all ages.

Cost: Free on Wednesdays  at 11:30, and Fri & Sat at 10:30am.

7. Whistle Punk Hollow:

This course is suited for all ages and is a great way to spend the afternoon outside with the kids. Bonus- it is close to the SORCA skills park if you are wanting to fit in more than one activity in the day!

8. Sea to Sky Gondola:

The sea to sky gondola is a great activity for the whole family, if you can manage get your kids off the fun playground at the bottom for one of the great family events at the top.  For those families looking for more of a thrill be sure to try out the new Via Ferratta fixed rung climbing route at the top.

9. Cheakamus River Rafting:

This is a great family friendly river rafting experience suitable for kids over 5 and who want to have some fun  splashes while enjoying wildlife viewing along the Cheakamus river.

Traveling with Pets: As many of you may have a dog you wish to bring along, you’ll be pleased to know that your furry friends  have available emergency services while on vacation with Garibaldi Veterinary Health. Another option for your family pet would be to hire a local dog walker while you are here, and give your pooch the mountain vacation he deserves!
