Squamish Eagle Viewing & Rafting Tours

Squamish is home to world class eagle viewing & rafting tours. The Bald Eagles return to Squamish every November because of our ideal wintering habitats for these impressive birds. Large, mature trees provide perching and roosting opportunities. Spawning salmon in the many rivers of Squamish provide an essential food source. The peace and quiet of the Squamish Valley also allows for uninterrupted feeding and perching.

Season

Staring early November, Eagle river float tours provide the opportunity to view the eagles from a remarkable vantage point – the river.  As you gently float by, our experienced and knowledgeable guides will educate you about the life cycle of the bald eagle and the salmon it depends upon, along with the incredible flora and fauna of our environment.

This is a wonderful trip for all the family, especially those interested in wildlife viewing, bird watching or photography.

The eagles remain in Squamish until early February, when the salmon finish spawning. The number of eagles depends on the food supply, the weather conditions and human disturbances. In 1994, the Squamish Valley was home to 3,769 bald eagles, a world record!
