It’s that time of year again. The weather is starting to cool off; the days crisper and shorter. The kids are back to school, and you are wishing you had just a bit more time to play and adventure. Well the great news is that Squamish has many great activities and things to do year round. We put together this guide to help you get the most out of the last few weekends of summer before fall comes. Here are seven awesome ways to spend some quality family fun time with the kids.
Airhouse – Freestyle Trampoline Center
Work and school require you to sit still; but at Airhouse, you’ll be rewarded for moving. Fly high in this freestyle trampoline center. It’s full of- you guessed it- trampolines! Airhouse offers classes, as well as a drop-in schedule. If your kids want more ways to play, there’s an awesome skate ramp on site. Adults can enjoy bounce and sweat yoga for a more peaceful change of pace. Airhouse offers Pro D day camps and is the perfect activity to tire the kids out no matter the season.

Squishy’s Family Fun Zone
Ready to expend a little more energy before summer comes to an end? Squishy’s is Squamish’s very own indoor play space! If you’ve had enough of the heat, you’ll love this outdoor-themed air conditioned facility. Kids can choose from three large play areas, games, a rock climbing wall, a 25-foot helix slide and more. In an effort to include the whole family, Squishy’s has a special play area for toddlers, as well as a room just for parents. Kick back and have a bite to eat while you watch the littles ones play. You’ll also have access to free Wi-Fi. The facility offers healthy snacks and meals, so plan to spend a few hours here. We guarantee no one will have trouble falling asleep after a trip to Squishy’s.

Ground Up Climbing Centre
Looking for a little bit more of a challenge? Head over to Ground Up Climbing Centre in Squamish and spend your day climbing away in 8,000 sq. ft of climbing space. The centre offers top rope climbing up to 40 ft. and a 100-ft. long bouldering wall. New climbers receive an introductory lesson before being unleashed on the walls, so don’t worry if you’re new to indoor climbing. Stick around for the day and grab a snack at the café. Ground Up has special events and classes, so if you find that climbing becomes a new family favorite, you can keep it up throughout the year.

Britannia Mine Museum
From 1904- 1974, Britannia Mine was once home to more than 60,000 people from more than 50 countries. It was the largest copper mine in the British Empire and was responsible for pioneering work on ore extraction technologies. This multiple award-winning museum is both fun and educational for the entire family. Take a ride on the mine train; check out all of the interactive displays and go panning for gold. Be sure to take your camera!

Sea to Sky Gondola
Whether you’re a visitor or a local, the Sea to Sky Gondola does not disappoint. You just can’t beat the panoramic views! The viewing platforms can be easily accessed by visitors of all ages. With many local events and live music happening at the gondola we recommend taking a a ride, enjoying the views and take some time to relax at the top, too!

Staycation- Camping at Alice Lake
Alice Lake Provincial Park is one of the top places to visit in Squamish. You’ll be surrounded by fresh green forest, mountains, four fresh water lakes and plenty of trees. Rent a kayak or canoe, or try your luck at stand-up paddleboarding. Do a little fishing or go for a swim while little ones enjoy the playground. Alice Lake has showers and flush toilets, as well as set quiet hours. The combination of these amenities and the variety of activities make it a family favourite in Squamish. Attendance may slow down towards the end of summer, but we highly recommend reserving your campsite early!

Squamish is known for its beautiful views and outdoor activities. Now that summer is coming to a close, make sure you squeeze in as much lake time as possible.
