Finding Solitude Film is an independent environmental film discussing Vancouver Island’s alpine, glacier, and forest eco-systems through interviews with scientific, environmental and indigenous cultural leaders. Bringing these perspectives together with a look at the current state of the region, this film ends with exploring critically important steps to obtaining a sustainable future.
The Locavore Bar & Grill will serve dinner until 6 for all guests who would like to come and order a dinner before the film! At 6:15 after all food is on tables, we will start the screening. The bar will stay open during the event with beer and wine specials; after the showing you will have a chance to meet one of the directors of the film, win prizes from local businesses in a raffle, as well as watch short films by Howe Sound Secondary students about what nature means to them.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be split by the Howe Sound Secondary Outdoor Education Program (teaching Squamish youth to safely recreate outdoors) and Nature Conservancy of Canada / Conservation de la nature Canada Emerald Edge Initiative (protecting coastal rainforest and cultures).
Dinner and drinks are not included in the price of a ticket; tickets will be $25 at the door.
Film produced by Tristan Hinder-Hohlweg of Old Growth Media and Jaiden George
