While summer has technically come to an end, the warm weather and dry skies are likely going stick around for a little longer. With fall beginning, it’s time to squeeze every last ounce out of the activities you love (biking, climbing, kiteboarding, skating) before the rain and snow settles in for good.

We’re pretty lucky here in Squamish, we have a number of world class mountain biking trails that range from beginner through to advanced. The Half Nelson trail is one of these, and if you haven’t heard of it, you’re probably not a long term Squamish biker. The downhill pump track is an impressive 3km and for most riders, it can take between 15 and 40 minutes depending on your speed preference and fitness levels. Safe to say you’ll be pretty sore at the finnish.

So, if you’re looking for some activities to do this fall, keep Half Nelson in mind. The currently dry trails could do with a little bit of rain and the lush forests in the Diamond Head Trail area are sure to keep the top of your head dry (even in a downpour). Check out the video below and be warned: It will leave you itching to get on your bike.

Some random facts I’m sure you’ll find interesting:

1. The Adventure Journal states that the Half Nelson Bike Trail Squamish experiences about 120 riders per day, seven days a week, 365 days per year (according to the trail’s electronic counter that counts the number of riders as they reach the trail’s end).
