Summer in Squamish is one of our favourite seasons! As you ramp up your summer plans, we wanted to help you with this Squamish Summer Bucket list of the best things to do in and around Squamish BC.

SUP

SUP is a standup paddleboard adventure. With Norm Hann and Coastal Stoke Tours, you can learn about the sport before embarking on a SUP tour on Howe Sound.

With Squamish Watersports you can take a wakeboarding class on lovely Howe Sound. Private and group lessons are available.

 

Hiking

Squamish is home to many hiking trails that are geared towards every skill level.  Many you can explore for a few hours, a day trip, or even enjoy an overnight hiking getaway.

 

Gelato Chill

When visiting beautiful downtown Squamish, why not stop at the local Gelato Chill to feast on a yummy, refreshing gelato? If gelato isn’t your thing, then you can also order classic ice cream, frozen yogurt, or dairy bar treats.

Golfing is the perfect way to start or end the day. The mountain scenery at the Squamish Valley Golf Course is stunning. Finish the day with an apres ceasar an the club house patio, this is one of the hidden gems in Squamish.

Rock Climb up the Squamish Chief

Hire a professional guide to take you up the face of the Chief this summer. This activity is possible with little  rock climbing experience but a decent level of fitness. But remember- What goes up must come down.

 

Whitewater Rafting on the Elaho River

Test Your Fear of Heights at the Via Ferrata

The Via Ferrata just opened and will be a must do on  your summer bucket list. Located at the top of the Sea to Sky Gondola, the iron rung climbing route will give you a taste of climbing paired perfectly with thrills and views.

 

 

Watch Squamish Days Loggers Sports

This family friendly event is a weekend full of excitement, fun and action guaranteed to make every member of the family smile. There are music & art events, children’s activities, a parade, wacky bed races, a 10K run, pancake breakfast and two world class Loggers Sports Shows with competitors from all around the world. This event showcases not only Squamish’s rich heritage, but also it’s strong and vibrant community spirit.

 

Taste of Squamish Cruiser Bike Pub Crawl

Our long summer evenings are great for a post adventure beverage tour. We recommend jumping on your cruiser bike for a gentle peddle visiting the following Local Favourite restaurants along the way:

  • Start with a beverage on Norman Rudy’s Patio
  • Make your way to Pepe and Gringo’s for a margarita.
  • Pedal downtown towards the Brewpub to fuel up on food.
  • Make your way to Valley Cliff for dancing and dinner at Match Eatery 
  • Insider’s tip – Share tasters and beverages as you go – book a bus taxi for the ride home and always drink and play responsibly.
